Journey to Bethlehem: The Magi

Read Matthew 2:1-12

There’s a reason we call the Magi wise men: because they were wise enough to know this was no ordinary baby. This was the most important child ever born. This was the one who would redeem the whole world. They made a great sacrifice in money and time because they knew how much Jesus would sacrifice for them!

Christmas is a great time to sit down, read the Gospels, and remember that God sent his only Son for us. He sent him to do what we could not do, save us from our sins. Because of Jesus, we can have eternal life. What an amazing gift! What a shame it would be if we missed out on the gift.

Christmas is also a great time to share that good news. Like the Magi, we can let others know that Jesus has been born. We can tell people that we are seeking after him and invite them to come along. Bring a friend to church and share the Christmas story with them.

Memory Verse
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."  Luke 2:10-11
