Prayer

This week we rotated through different prayer stations. The kids had the opportunity to pray for friends, family, our church, people suffering from illness, our country, our world, and more!

READ ACTS 12:1-16

The believers called on Jesus and asked Him to spare Peter. They knew that Peter’s only hope was for God to intervene, and that’s exactly what happened. Prayer works. It is the ultimate weapon against any challenge.

Paul didn’t tell us to pick up the “horn of prayer” in Ephesians, but he concluded his lesson on the armor of God with an urgent plea to pray.

READ EPHESIANS 6:18-20

Pray on all occasions. Prayer is also a vital part of our relationship with the Lord. Can you have a relationship with someone you never talk to? God wants to hear from us!

Family Discussion Starters:

- What is the “horn” that goes with the Armor of God?
- How was Peter saved by prayer?
- Have you made time to pray today?

Parents! Are your little ones reluctant to pray out loud? Encourage them to repeat after you but use terminology that they would naturally use at their age. Keep it short. Build on it each time you pray together. This will help take off the pressure of not knowing what to say. As they get more comfortable, encourage them to do it on their own. The more you pray together the more comfortable the act of prayer will become for them. It’s important as parents that we are not only setting the example to our kids, but also that we are encouraging them in their walk with the Lord.

Memory Verse
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13
