The Plagues - Exodus Series (Toddler/PreK)
Today in Calvary Kids, we learned that Pharaoh was mean to God's people and wouldn't listen, so God had to show He was the strongest. He set 10 different plagues over the land of Egypt to show his power. God kept His people safe the whole time throughout this.
Read Exodus 7:14-11:10
The Bible tells us there were 10 plagues. For the first one, God turned all the water red like blood! All the water turned red - yucky! The fish died - stinky! There was no water to drink! But God's people had clean water!
Then God sent lots and lots of frogs over the land. There were frogs in the beds, frogs in the food, frogs everywhere! The Bible tells us God sent lice next. Lice were on the people and on the animals and it they were super itchy!
The Bible tells us God sent the fourth plague: Flies, lots and lots of them! Flies filled their houses and were everywhere! Can you imagine not being able to get away from them because there were so many of them?
Then God sent sickness to the animals living in the fields, like cows and horses. All of the Pharaoh's people's animals died, but the animals of God's people were safe. Not one animal of God's people died! Again, Pharaoh could not make his heart soft. His people had to go through bad things because he would not let God's people go!
The Bible tells us God sent yet another plague; Yucky sores on people. Again, Pharaoh's people would suffer. The people got yucky boo-boos on their skin. Even a band aid wouldn't help! God's people were safe. How many more plagues would Pharaoh have to go through to listen to God? God then sent big hail down from the sky. The hail was huge! They were big balls of ice falling from the sky! People and animals had to be inside so they wouldn't get hurt. The hail was so big, it hurt the food Pharaoh's people had been growing in their gardens.
The Bible tells us God sent the eighth plague: Locusts. Locusts are like big grasshoppers. They ate all the plants that the hail didn't hurt and now Pharaoh's people wouldn't have any food to eat! Pharaoh's people were starting to get angry that he wouldn't listen to God. Then God sent darkness to Egypt. It was so dark that they couldn't see anything! That darkness latest for three whole days! BUT where God's people lived, it was still daytime. They could see and play and eat!
The Bible tells us God sent ten plagues in all. We will learn about the last one next week. God gave Pharaoh ten chances! As we will see next wee, finally Pharaoh said "Go! Go! Go!" and God's people were free! God is the strongest! No one is stronger than Him. God protected His people and set them free. Let's thank God: "Thank You, God, for being the strongest! Thank You for keeping us safe! We love You! Amen!"
