Fruit of the Spirit: Patience
Waiting is Sometimes Part of God's Plan
Have you ever grown fruits and vegetables at home? t takes a lot of patience to grow fruits and veggies. It takes patience waiting for the plant to mature, and then it takes patience waiting for the fruits and veggies to grow and ripen.
Patience is a Fruit of the Spirit. Like the fruits and veggies we grow in the garden, it takes timeto develop patience. We must learn to let go of things we can’t control. We must trust God has a plan.
Read Genesis 21:1-7
Waiting is never easy, but if we have a deep faith like Abraham, God will help us to
produce the fruit of patience. We will be prepared to wait for the blessings of God.
Waiting teaches us to rely on God. It teaches us to be content. When we learn patience,
God also gives us peace that helps us stay calm when we wait. Patience also produces
more joy, because even though we don’t know what the answer will be or when it will
come, we know God will work things out for our good.
Patience isn’t easy. Waiting isn’t fun. But God can give us true patience and so much more.
God will teach us to be patient, and when we are forced to wait for something this week, let’s give our frustrations to God. God will grow patience in you, and he will use it to
grow your faith.
