Pray for Others

Read Acts 12:1-17

Peter was a friend of Jesus. He went all over telling people about Jesus. Some people didn’t like what Peter was saying, so they threw him in jail. Peter’s friends remembered that they can talk to God about anything, so they prayed to God that He would rescue Peter. God answered their prayer. Whenever we pray, we can pray not just for ourselves, but for other people too. We can pray for family, friends, and even people we don’t know!

Family Discussion Questions:
Why couldn’t Peter go anywhere?
What did Peter’s friends do to help Peter?
Did God answer the friends’ prayer?
Who is someone we can pray for?

Parents,
Find opportunities to pray with your kids this week. It’s important that kids see prayer as a normal part of our daily lives. It’s up to us as the parents to set the example. Take a look at this week’s “Make it Stick” page for some great ideas!
